Casino Copenhagen, the first international casino in Denmark, was issued its first licence by the Ministry of Justice in October of 1990, opened on the 31st December 1990 and has on the 1st January 2009 had its licence renewed again for a new ten year period.

Casino Copenhagen with 160 employees is owned equally by Rezidor International Hotels Selection ApS, Denmark and Casinos Austria International GesmbH, Austria.
The casino, with a total area of around 3,000 m2 on three levels, was designed by the international renowned architect Professor Knud Holscher, Denmark and by Professor Rudolph Gschnitzer, Austria (interior). It has more than 600 wood panels connecting the 10.000 wood and glass triangles in the different ceilings. The more than two kilos of gold used for the decoration of the casino is illuminated by more than 12.000 light bulbs.
